Fisheries Development: Sindh govt supports sector
Malkani said that steps have been taken for the development of fisheries
KARACHI:
Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Department Muhammad Ali Malkani said on Thursday that the provincial government was taking initiatives to maintain sustainable growth in fish production. The minister’s comments were made during a seminar organised by the Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Department in collaboration with the World Bank Group where the threats of climate change, marine pollution and harmful nets used in the sea were discussed. Malkani said that steps have been taken for the development of fisheries, which was an important source of food supply and economic growth. He also assured full cooperation to the World Bank for betterment of the fisheries sector.
