ISLAMABAD: A young man was shot dead outside his house in Sector G-6 late on Wednesday night by one of his cousins, police said on Thursday.

Officials at the Aabpara police said that 25-year-old Yasir Satti had allegedly been shot dead by his cousin Awais outside the former’s house in Sector G-6/1.

Satti was rushed to the Polyclinic hospital but he succumbed to his injury.

Police said that initial investigations had revealed that the cousins had some family dispute which had led to the killing.

Aabpara police officials added that Awais, his brother Asim, Changez and Kasim were still at large.

Three-day-old body identified

Meanwhile, officials said that the body of a septuagenarian man, which was found in the Margalla Hills near Pir Sohawa on Wednesday, was identified as that of Bahadur Khan, a resident of the nearby Haripur district.

The body was three days old when it was discovered.

However, officials said that they did not find and injury marks on the man’s body to suggest that he had been murdered. Hence, police concluded that the man had died a natural death.

Police added that Bahadur was probably walking from his village in Haripur to Islamabad and probably died while walking through the hills.

Suspected suicide

Meanwhile authorities on Thursday recovered the bodies of a woman and her two children from the Rawal Lake on Thursday afternoon, with both the police and the family suspecting that the woman had committed suicide.

Officials told The Express Tribune that bodies of 30-year-old Sumera and her two kids were fished out from the lake.

Police said that they were able to identify the woman through some documents found in the woman’s handbag.

Her family was found in Rawalpindi’s Chaklala area and they identified the bodies at the Polyclinic hospital.

The children were identified as Joanna and Balach, both under five years of age. They belonged to a Christian family.

A police officer told The Express Tribune that it was a suicide. A family member also agreed with the police saying the woman had been in distress after her husband died about two months ago.
