COMSATS organises capacity building workshop on Islamic finance

The Center for Islamic finance (CIF) at the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Abbottabad held a two-day capacity building workshop on Islamic finance for Shariah scholars (ulema) and bankers with collaboration from the State Bank of Pakistan. Held from May 17-18, the CIF workshop was attended by Shariah scholars and bankers from the district. Qazi Abdul Samad, a Shariah Advisor for the Bank of Khyber was the trainer at the workshop. During the opening ceremony of the workshop, CIIT Director Dr Shahid Khattak, CIF Head Dr Abdul Sattar Abbasi, District Khateeb Maulana Abdul Wajid and Mufti Zainul Abideen emphasised the need of spreading awareness about Islamic banking and Islamic finance.
