“We connect entrepreneurs in developing countries and emerging markets with senior experts from the Netherlands each of whom has gained at least 30 years of professional experience in business environment,” said Frans Friedeman, Country Head of Netherlands’ Senior Experts Organisation PUM in a meeting at the PCMA office on Tuesday.
“These senior experts voluntarily devote their knowledge and experience for the execution of short-term consultancy and advisory projects.”
The remarks came in line with PCMA’s plan to acquire the Netherlands’ expertise for making improvement in the chemical industry and bringing it on a par with international standards.
Friedeman pointed out that PUM was a non-profit organisation established in the Netherlands in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Employers Federation.
“PUM provides a cost-free programme which is contributing to the growth of businesses in developing countries by providing direct and indirect support,” he said.
The fact-finding mission, which will work in collaboration with the Engineering Development Board, will visit interested member companies of the PCMA. It will come up with a report and place senior consultants in these companies based on the study.
Earlier, PCMA Secretary General Iqbal Kidwai highlighted that the PCMA was a young association formed approximately two years ago.
The association had been engaged in evolving a comprehensive strategy for the development of Pakistan’s chemical industry, which was almost ready for implementation, he said, adding coordination with national and international agencies was part of the strategy.
