ISLAMABAD: Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang of three Afghan nationals who were allegedly involved in street crimes in the capital and the neighbouring Rawalpindi district.

The suspects arrested by the Sabzi Mandi police were identified as Taj, Khair Gul, and Rehmat. Police claimed the suspects had confessed to their involvement in multiple cases of street crime in the twin cities.

Meanwhile, Shams Colony police have arrested three persons --- Ahsan Abbas, Shafaat Khan, and Arman Baig --- and recovered a kalashinkov, a 223-bore gun, and a pistol from them respectively. Sihala police arrested Arshad alias Goga and Sardar for possessing a 30-bore pistol and 457 grammes of hashish respectively.

Furthermore, Golra police arrested robbery suspects Basit and Abdul Jabbar and recovered a mobile phone and Rs58,000  in cash from them. Secretariat police recovered 20 liters of liquor from Munawar Masih.

Cases have been registered against all the suspects.

Meanwhile two cops were arrested after being caught on tape, taking a bribe

Police have arrested and booked two of their colleagues after a video of the two was shared on social media in which they were shown taking bribe from motorcyclists.

Industrial Area SHO inspector Ghulam Qasim told The Express Tribune that Ali Raza and Jehangir, the two suspects, were arrested
on Saturday.
