LAHORE: There are millions of women who long for just one child, but a lucky Lahoriite woman was blessed with three kids in one go, that too just ahead of Mothers’ Day. She and her three offspring are safe and healthy, while the woman can celebrate Mother’s Day in its true spirit.

The young woman, whose husband is a labourer, was blessed with triplets – two boys and one girl – at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

According to a statement issued by the Sir Ganga Raam Hospital: “All babies were delivered safely. They are in good health and will be released from the hospital on Sunday (today). The couple lives in a low-income area of Shahdara. “It may be a difficult task for the poor family bring up their children as they grow older,” said an official at the hospital.

“We all welcome these adorable babies to the world. It is a great moment not only for the family, but also for the hospital,” said Yasira Siddiqi, a nurse who helped the woman deliver the children.

It was a normal delivery, she said, adding that doctors had feared for the health of the mother and unborn babies because such pregnancies are highly risky.

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his message on Mother’s Day said, “There is no substitute of a great relation like mother. He added that no human being, religion and nation on earth can deny respect to the mother.
