Housemaid found dead at employer's residence in Lahore
Initial investigations suggested victim committed suicide after swallowing some poisonous substance

A girl was found dead, on Friday, at the residence of her employers where she worked as a housemaid, in F-Block Model Town, Lahore.
On Thursday night the maid, identified as 24-year-old Muniza, a resident of Vehari, went to sleep in the room designated to her. The family, however, woke up to find the maid lying unconscious.
They immediately called the police following which the deceased was shifted to a morgue for autopsy.
Two held as child maid subjected to violence in Islamabad
Initial investigations suggested that the victim committed suicide after swallowing some poisonous substance. However, the cause of death can only be ascertained after the autopsy’s result revealed and legal investigation takes place.
In March this year, two people were arrested by the Islamabad police after it was revealed that a minor girl working as a maid in their house was subjected to torture on a daily basis and threatened to be killed.
Police was informed by a neighbour that, 12-year-old, Saima had been beaten by the owner of the house, Imtiaz Ali and his sister Almas. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered at Golra police station after recording a statement of the child, followed by the arrests.
