Higher education : PHEC launches split PhD programme for teachers

It will initially offer 6 scholarships to the faculty members of PU

LAHORE: A split PhD scholarship programme will be offered to the faculty members of universities and colleges of the province, who will be able to pursue their PhDs from top academic institutions of the world.

The programme was launched by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) and through a pilot project it would initially offer 6 scholarships to the faculty members of the Punjab University Institute of Social and Cultural Studies.

PHEC Chairperson Dr Nizamuddin said that the MoU was related to the pilot Split PhD Scholarship Programme offered for extending opportunities of higher learning and research to the faculty of public sector universities and colleges.

He added that this programme would also provide a golden opportunity for talented teachers to polish their research skills and get international exposure.
