KARACHI: Commodore Abdul Aleem of the Pakistan Navy handed over the command of CTF-151 to Singapore Navy’s Rear-Admiral Harris Weng Yip Chan after the expiry of his four-month term.

A Pakistan Navy press release said that the change of command took place onboard the HMS Cornwall alongside the USS Mason, the commandship for the incoming CTF-151, in Djibouti.

It said that the Combined Task Force 151 (CTF 151) is the multinational task force operating as the Counter Piracy segment of Combined Maritime Forces Headquarters at Bahrain. CTF-151 is conducting counter-piracy operations under the UN Security Council resolutions to curb piracy in the Gulf of Eden, North Arabian Sea and the Somalia Basin, which contains vital supply routes and can be termed the life line for the world’s leading economies.
