Unfortunate incident: Woman, daughter electrocuted

Rescue 1122 says an electric fan fell on them, they suffered an electric shock and died on the spot.

MULTAN: A woman and her minor daughter died of electrocution at their house on Shujabad Road in the limits of Islampura Town police on Sunday. According to Rescue 1122, a woman identified as Samina Shahbaz, was sleeping with her four-year-old daughter Abiha in her house. Meanwhile, an electric fan fell on them and they suffered an electric shock and died on the spot. The husband of the deceased woman is a rickshaw driver and was sleeping in the other room. Qutubpur police took the bodies into custody for investigation. In a separate incident, a youth drowned in the Sikandri Canal while picnicking on Sunday. Rescue 1122 officials said the man was in his early 20s and identified as Kashif. The victim, who was a resident of Suraj Miani, had gone to Sikandri Canal with his friends where he drowned. Rescue team reached the site and recovered the body.
