MULTAN: A woman’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her home in Okara District on Wednesday after she was strangled to death by her husband with the help of her in-laws.

The victim has been identified as Kausar Bibi. Her husband, Sajid, mother-in-law, Khursheed Bibi, and brother-in-law, Muhammad Nadeem, have been booked by the Deepalpur police on the complaint of Kausar’s brother, Muhammad Arif.

Arif claimed that his sister had not killed herself and her husband and in-laws had tried to make it look like a suicide case to cover up the murder.

Police said Sajid had confessed to his crime. The motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained.

Earlier in January 2017, a woman was murdered over family dispute in Kotmomin police limits, Sargodha. Police said Khizar Hayat, resident of Kotmomin, along with his six accomplices, including a woman Bushra strangled his wife Naeema Bibi to death.

The body was handed over to the family after postmortem.

Similarly, a man was strangled to death in Sargodha.

The police said farmer Muhammad Aslam Malah, a resident of Riaz Colony, had an argument with his neighbour Nawaz Minhas over a petty issue.

In a bid to take revenge, Nawaz strangled Aslam to death when he was working at his farmhouse.
