ISLAMABAD: A court in Islamabad extended former minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi's remand in the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) physical custody for 14 more days on Wednesday.

Kazmi, who is one of the accused involved in the multi-million-rupee Hajj scam, was presented in the court of senior civil judge Aslam Gondal.

Speaking to the media outside the court, FIA official Khalid Naeem said investigations revealed further assets of the former minister including 14 plots worth Rs4 million.

The court has directed the FIA to present Kazmi in court on April 13.

Earlier, the Islamabad court had extended the physical remand of the former minister for four days so investigators could question him further.

Kazmi has been in the custody of the FIA for the past 14 days.
