One security official martyred in central Kurram Agency operation

Operation continues in Zawa, Khwarmahay and Gandawa areas

PESHAWAR: A security official was martyred while two, including a military captain, were injured during an intelligence-based operation carried out in central Kurram Agency, a security official said.

According to the official, a number of militants were reportedly killed in the ensuing clash near Khoedad Khel. He said the operation continued in Zawa, Khwarmahay and Gandawa areas.

The deceased secuirty official has been identified as Ismail while the injured have been identifief as Captain Ghaffar and Naik Khizer.



Last month, all links and access roads into this tribal area were rendered impassable by the Pakistani forces to curb militants attacks inside Kurram Agency.



Fears of such attacks mounted after local mosques announced the possibility of suicide attackers from Afghanistan attacking bordering villages.
