ISLAMABAD: Police are on the lookout for a group of robbers who broke into a house and tortured the family at gunpoint before fleeing with the loot.
According to the family, four armed men had broken into their home in Ghauri Town shortly before midnight on April 18.
The robbers allegedly held the family hostage at gunpoint and tied them up. The robbers, who spent over four hours in the house, looted Rs510,000 in cash and four mobile phones.
They also allegedly tortured the family and made videos of the family’s women, threatening to upload the clips on to the internet if the family reported the incident.
As a result, the family did not report the matter to the police immediately. But on April 28, nearly 10 days after the incident, the family finally lodged a complaint with the Koral police.
Koral police have registered a case of robbery against the four unidentified robbers. However, they are yet to make any arrests in the case.
