Apparently a new glitch in Apple’s flagship smartphone can cause it to stop working entirely.

The bug, which doesn’t appear to pose any serious long term damage, can cause an iPhone to completely freeze and become useless temporarily. The device, however, starts functioning normally after a while.

This bug can completely disable your iPhone

The problem is activated by opening up the Control Centre that appears with a slide up gesture from the bottom on an iPhone. Taping three of the menu options on the Control Centre at the same time causes the device to instantly shut down and hang.

The iPhone freezes on the Control Centre menu and is rendered unresponsive.

It isn't clear what causes the problem, though it can be attributed to the phone's inability to deal with the requests from all three menu keys. The glitch is present on all versions of iOS, including 10.3.2 beta version, which would suggest Apple is yet to make a patch for it.
