Eight Iranian security guards killed near Pakistan border

Jaishal Adl militant group carries out regular attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan, reports Iranian media

At least eight Iranian border guards were killed on Wednesday in clashes with outlaws near Pakistan border.

The clashes, which erupted near the town of Mirjaveh in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan, also left four other border guards injured, Iran’s state-run IRIB news agency reported.

Armed bandits, outlaws and drug dealers regularly attack security forces and border guards in southeastern Iran. Earlier this month, a commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) was assassinated by two terrorists in Sistan and Baluchestan.



Commander Rouhollah Aali was also gunned down on April 11 by two ‘terrorists’ while travelling to the Kurin district of Zahedan County for duty. Subsequently, the assailants were killed by Basij volunteer forces.

In July last year, four border guards were killed in the border region with Pakistan.

Iranian media reported that the Jaishal Adl militant group – accused by Tehran of links to al Qaeda – carries out regular attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan.
