While all the super-sleuths out there were outsmarted by the widespread confusion caused by the #MakeMorningsGreatAgain campaign. We’re not the least bit sad, especially considering the outcome.

Since February 10, 2017, the airwaves of Pakistani radio had felt quieter than ever before. Mornings were devoid of that coffee-esque kick we all received on our way to work or school for over ten years. However, FM 91 has saved us all from that massive void we didn’t even know needed filling.

Yes, Khalid Malik is back on air!

Upon speaking to listeners on one of his last few shows for his previous employers, with a heavy heart, Malik announced that he had resigned from his position at the radio station, but had also clarified his intent to continue his career on radio. Whatever reason he may have had for making the switch is his personal business, we, however, could not be bothered.

Khalid Malik’s Morning Jam will air every day from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 11am on FM 91. In Pakistan’s radio history, this goes down as one of the biggest ever announcements; and FM 91 made sure everyone knew about it. From place-mats at popular eateries, to food boxes at take-aways.

They did, however, put up a teaser on their Facebook page that gave away, piece by piece, the fact that Khalid Malik had made his return. The final piece of the image revealing this:

An announcement such as this warrants the kind of response that shows just how popular radio is in Pakistan. Malik, who has almost 35, 000 fans on Facebook alone, expressed his delight at being back on the radio, with a status update that read:

Also, to commemorate a move this big, FM 91 makes sure its listeners are big winners; Khalid Malik will be giving away tickets to the Justin Beiber concert happening in Dubai this summer.

FM 91 has told its listeners that the show will embody the very essence of Khalid Malik, as he will bring back his signature segments with a 91 twist, ensuring the same energy and quirkiness that we’ve become used to. So all that is left to do is to tune into FM 91 every weekday morning, and drive along to mornings that have successfully been made ‘great again’.
