Traffic woes: Faisalabad to get four new uplift schemes

Summary has been sent for approval while work will commence after June 2017.

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has planned four new development schemes to overcome traffic problems in the city.

A spokesperson for FDA said on Monday that four new schemes have been evolved that included construction of an underpass at Kashmir Bridge, flyover from Tariqabad Bridge to Chak Jhumra Road, service road on both sides of Canal Road and remodel Ling of Chenab Chowk.

He added summary of these projects had been sent to the Punjab government for final approval, while physical work was expected to commence after June 2017.

He maintained Rs950 million had been proposed for the construction of Kashmir Bridge Underpass, Rs600 million for flyover from Tariqabad Bridge to Chak Jhumra Road, Rs360 million for service road on both sides of Canal Road while Rs50 million were proposed for remodeling of Chenab Chowk.

Ahmad | 7 years ago | Reply Finally a welcome and much needed move. But I suspect that the Government of Punjab would rather divert this Money to more schemes in Lahore only.
