The varsity had organised events to engage students and faculty members in planting trees to mark the day. Moreover, the varsity’s Department of Home and Health Sciences recently organised a seminar to raise awareness among students and the public about the environment. AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that the varsity would provide academic support to the government and world bodies to make the earth pollution-free. He added that the varsity was actively engaged in researching socio-economic issues related to the environment and had initiated several activities to help resolve issues such as global warming and other environmental problems.
