Charsadda police arrest militant facilitator

Recovers heavy cache of ammunition, TTP letters, wireless phones and explosives

SHABQADAR: Charsadda police claimed to have arrested an alleged militant facilitator in Shabqadar and recovered heavy cache of ammunition, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) letters, wireless phones and explosives from his possession.

District Police Officer Sohail Khalid told a press conference on Wednesday that acting on a tip-off, police launched an operation in Shabqadar and arrested the alleged facilitator, Saeed Bacha. He said that the facilitator belonged to Khalid Sheikh group of militant organisation and was guilty of facilitating target killings, extortion and bomb blast in Charsadda and Nowshehra.

 

The weapons recovered include 20 kilograms of explosive material, one kilogram of ball bearing, 15 hand grenades, detonators, two Kalashnikovs, two suicide vests, a rocket launcher and four shells.

A diary and letters were also recovered from the facilitator’s possession which had records of target killings, blast and other militant activities carried out by the group.

Khalid added that the police was investigating the matter further.
