Road accidents claim nine lives in Bhakkar

BHAKKAR: At least nine people were killed while 30 others suffered injuries in two different traffic incidents in Bhakkar on Tuesday.

A police official said a speedy van carrying passengers crashed into another vehicle on Jhang Road near Dirya Khan in Bhakkar.



As a result, five people were killed on the spot while 19 others, including women were injured.

The injured were rushed to Bhakkhar Hospital and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Mankera by Rescue 1122 workers. The majority of deceased and injured were school teachers. The doctors at the hospital said the condition of four injured people was critical.



Meanwhile, rescue officials claimed the incident occurred after the tie rod of one the vehicles broke.

In another incident, at least four people were killed while 13 others were injured as a van collided with a car on Motorway M3.
