Indian firing along LoC injures two civilians

According to Foreign Office spokesperson, the injured were identified as Sania and Nisar

Two civilians were injured in unprovoked firing by the Indian forces along the Line of Control at the Tandar Sector on Saturday.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson, the injured were identified as Sania and Nisar.

The spokesperson deplored Indian targeting of civilians. He said that the international community should take notice of targeting of civilians by India and its action that has endangered the regional peace.

Pakistan lodged protest with India on Monday over unprovoked firing along the Line of Control that resulted in the killing of an 18-year-old civilian.

Muhammad Attique Qureshi, son of Muhammad Khalil Qureshi, was killed on April 1 when Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing along Chirikot sector.

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh was summoned by Director General (SA & SAARC), Dr Mohammad Faisal who condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian occupation forces.

“Deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed condemnable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws,” he said.

The director general urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.
