“Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah had visited the institute in 1944 and made a personal donation of Rs500,” Senator Lt Gen (Retd) Abdul Qayyum said while speaking at the ceremony to mark the platinum jubilee of the orphanage set up in 1942.
Over 1,000 orphans and poor children from all over the country, including 200 from Balochistan and 100 from Gilgit-Baltistan, are taken care of at Anjuman Faizul Islam, the Senator noted.
