KARACHI: Three people and a parrot were found dead at a men's salon in North Nazimabad on Thursday morning.

According to Central SSP Muqaddas Haider, the three men died overnight due to a gas leak from the generator at the AXE men's salon, located in Block E of the area.

The victims, identified as Irshad, Jahangir and Ali, were discovered foaming at the mouth by their colleagues who routinely opened the shop in the morning. A parrot caged inside the shop was also found dead, he added.

Initial investigations suggest the victims had turned on the generator before sleeping at night at the shop behind a closed shutter, not realising that there was a gas exhaust that eventually led to suffocation, said the official.

He also said the victims had been sleeping at the shop for the past week. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

SSP Haider said the FIR of the incident depended on the post-mortem report. "The exact cause of death will determine the fate of the case but apparently carbon monoxide inhalation killed the people," he said.

ZAHEER | 7 years ago | Reply It is not the first time that people killed due to their own negligence or ignorance unfortunately the question arises here why they were living in a locked salon & who allowed them? The living inside a locked room or shop or any other place is itself dangerous, in any case of emergency neither anyone can help them nor they can managed to evacuate. The authorities should take action against such practices for the safety of precious lives and any mishap in future. On the other hand the people using generator facility should be well-aware about how to use them otherwise no one can't stop such incidents.
