ABBOTTABAD: The clerical and technical staff of hospitals across Hazara division, including the Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH), continued their strike for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. As directed by their respective provincial bodies, all routine work remained suspended. The local leadership, including Malik Liaqat Awan, Abid Khan, and Kamran Khan criticised the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for its alleged discriminatory policy against clerks, technical, and class IV staff. They said the protesting staff had been diligently offering its services to the hospital and college but were deprived of their due rights, which was only a small payment to be made by the government. The leaders warned the provincial government of serious consequences unless their demands were met.
