The first incident was reported from village Mera Rasheeda Oghi where Amir Khan’s wife went missing on the evening of March 30. According to Amir, his wife went to fetch water when Azizur Rehman of village Bisiyan Balakot allegedly kidnapped her. The police registered a criminal case against the suspect under section 365 B of the PPC, but failed to find any clue of the missing woman. In a second village, Shabora Battagram, a teenage girl was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint.
According to Muhammad Khalil, he was at home with family at around 9pm on March 25 when Ahmed Jan and Muhammad Zar with around five accomplices, barged into his house and resorted to aerial firing.
They then forcibly dragged his 14 year old daughter out, and drove her to some unknown place in a jeep. Khalil claimed he had no relation to or enmity with the suspect.
According to Khalil, the Battagram Police hadn’t yet registered a case despite his complaining to them. The kidnappers were constantly hurling threats to him, Khalil said, and demanded that the IG police intervene and recover his daughter.
