Rashid Rana wins 2017 Asia Arts Award

The Beaconhouse National University’s (BNU) visual arts dean has been awarded the prestigious 2017 Asia Arts Award.
BNU Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design Dean Prof Rashid Rana received the award in Hong Kong on March 23.
A statement issued by the university said: “Rashid was one of the four contemporary Asian artists honoured in an elaborate ceremony held at Hong Kong besides Hon Chi Fun from Hong Kong, Kimsooja from Korea and Hiroshi Sugimoto from Japan.”
The Asia Arts Awards Hong Kong is a signature gala celebration honouring the Asia Arts Game Changers during the week of Art Basel.
Some major art collectors, artists, gallerists, dignitaries from the art world, Asia Society trustees and patrons gather to celebrate the contemporary arts in Asia and honour artists for their significant contributions.
