APNS announces winners of 20th APNS Journalist Awards for 2009-2010.

The All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) has announced the winners of the 20th APNS Journalist Awards for the year 2009-2010, which will be distributed at the APNS Awards Ceremony on March 28, according to a press statement released on Monday.


“The 21st APNS Awards Ceremony will be held on March 28, 2011 at President House, Islamabad wherein awards will be distributed by President Asif Ali Zardari among the winners of journalist and advertising agencies awards,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the panel of Judges for Awards consists of the prominent writers and intellectuals such as Oxford University Press Managing Director Ameena Saiyid, Mediators (Pvt) Ltd, Karachi Managing Director Babar Ayaz, Head of Department, Mass Communications, Karachi University Dr Rafia Taj,  Karachi University Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat, Mrs Mehtab Akbar Rashidi from the Eye Television Network, Mass Communication Department, Punjab University Dr Mugheesuddin Sheikh, Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid, Owais Aslam Ali, from the Pakistan Press International, Federal Urdu University Prof Tauseef Ahmed Khan, Advocate Siraj-ul-Haq, Dean Faculty of Arts, Federal Urdu University Seemeen Naghmana, and Prof Shahida Kazi, from the Department of Media Studies, Institute of Business Management.

The panel of judges for the advertising awards has short-listed the winners, which will be announced at the ceremony.

APNS President Hameed Haroon has decided that the Presidential Award for Excellence in PR and Corporate Communications be awarded to Senior Executive Vice President, Pakistan Telecommunications Co Ltd Naveed Saeed.
