Wildlife Conservation: G-B communities prevent poaching

District official says the objectives to preserve wildlife in the area have been achieved with the help of G-B people

ASTORE: Wildlife is a precious asset of Gilgi-Baltistan (G-B) and the people of G-B are enlightened enough to guard their treasure, said the top officer of wildlife in Astore district. The objectives to preserve wildlife in the area have been achieved with the help of G-B people, said District Forest Officer Wildlife Ghulam Muhammad. Talking to the media on Friday he said that committees set up by local communities keep vigil against poaching in their respective areas. The people have helped in implementing ban on illegal hunting, he said.
