LAHORE: An old man, who played a vital role in the struggle of Pakistan, moved to court seeking a case against a man who has allegedly been tying his buffaloes by a road causing a nuisance for pedestrians.

Housemaid case: Sessions court extends bail of judge, wife

In a petition to a sessions court, Anwar Hussain accused Akram Butt of disrespecting his struggle during the creation of Pakistan by turning down the petitioner's request to move the buffaloes.

He said that it was not only creating an ugly atmosphere but was also a hindrance for the people trying to reach a nearby Mosque.

Hussain, who was awarded a Tamgha-e-Shujaat by the government to honour his part in the struggle to create Pakistan alongside Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, stressed that residents of the locality were facing major problems due to Butt's routine of leaving cattle on the road.

The petition also said that the road was covered in animal dung and urine, leaving no place for pedestrians to pass through.

Hussain said that after he introduced himself, Butt had promised to tie up the animals - but Butt had broken that promise. A few other residents had also approached the man, but he remained defiant.

Hussain told the court that he had approached Baghbanpura SHO to lodge an FIR, but the police did nothing, after which he approached the court to direct the authorities to register the FIR.

The court has sought comments from the SHO.
