Elimination of TB among priorities: CM

LAHORE: Elimination of tuberculosis from the country and the provision of best treatment facilities are among the priorities of the Punjab government, said Shehbaz Sharif in his message on the eve of International TB awareness day on Thursday. The chief minister said the purpose of celebrating TB day was to create public awareness about the treatment and protection from this disease. “TB is a curable disease. Clean environment, healthy food as well as medicines are prerequisites for the treatment of tuberculosis,” he was quoted as saying in a statement. TB patients are being given free treatment, diagnostic and medicines facilities, he said, adding vaccinations were necessary to remain safe from this contagious disease.
