LAHORE: A walk was organised by the City Traffic Police to raise awareness among the masses on the use of helmets. It started from the Gulzar Underpass to the Muslim Town Underpass on Wednesday.

The walk, led by Chief Traffic Police Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad, is part of an ongoing campaign of the traffic police to educate the masses about traffic rules. A large number of students, members of civil society and traffic wardens participated in the walk. Police personnel distributed pamphlets among the people during the walk.

Speaking on the occasion, the CTO said the purpose of this exercise was to raise awareness among youth on the benefit of using seatbelts and helmets.

He said the department was using all available resources to improve the flow of traffic in the metropolis. “Our objective is to arrange the best commuting facilities for the people of Lahore. We are putting in every effort,” Ijaz added.

“Steps taken by martyred Traffic DIG Mobeen Ahmad brought visible improvements to the system in the city. Results were prominent through the flow of traffic.”

“We are his mission forward,” the CTO remarked.

“Traffic Police is focusing on maintaining the flow of traffic and educating the masses about laws. We have delivered lectures to 30,000 students in the last two months at different institutes, distributed thousands of pamphlets, pasted banners and posters and held awareness camps throughout the city.”
