ISLAMABAD: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) on Tuesday recovered a stolen car and handed it over to its owner.

The motorway police had received information that a Toyota Corolla (AUD-553) had been stolen from within the remits of Tarnol police station in Islamabad.

After a few minutes, a Motorway police patrol spotted a similar car on Motorway (M-1) near Rashakari violating lane rules.

They signalled the car to stop but the driver sped away. When the car was chased, the culprits parked the car on the side of the road after a while and fled. Officers took the car into custody and informed local police.

The recovered car was later handed over to local police for further legal action and investigation in the presence of the car’s owner.
