Vidya Balan has always been making headlines (good and bad) for her unique fashion sense.

About four years ago, the Kahaani star made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, where her outfit for the event faced quite a lot of backlash - with critics labelling her look as boring and dull.

Pakistani women look beautiful, no matter what they wear: Vidya Balan

Clad in a Sabyasachi traditional sari, Vidya looked her traditional self but critics found it to be too monotonous. The designer behind the outfits, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, defended the creations and asserted, “Vidya doesn’t like to experiment much. She’s happy the way she is, and there is no harm in that.”

Soon after that, Vidya was not ever spotted wearing the famous designer.

Recently, in an interview, The Dirty Picture diva revealed that she, indeed, does not wear Sabyasachi anymore.

“I think Sabyasachi is one of the most talented designers in the country. I have worn him a lot but post Cannes (pauses)... I don’t know if I can call it a fallout, but we have not been in touch. Not that anything has happened, but... it’s unfortunate,” she explained.

Women can be desirable even in their 30s: Vidya Balan

“A lot was said about my fashion sense back then. However, with time, the acceptance of my own body and therefore the confidence that comes with it has only been growing,” she stated.

“It was a slow process. It started happening around Pa and Ishqiya. I have begun to care less and less about what anyone has to say,” Vidya added.
