The church, with support from provincial ministry for minorities, had organised the singing contest spread over three rounds. As many as 14 youngsters of different age groups participated in the competition.

However, after a tough contest, only five contestants were left after the first round. These whittled down to just three after the second round.

In the final and third round, which ended on Sunday, the three singers vied for the top spot including 12-year-old Nobel Javaid Sagar.

After a competitive and tough final round Nobel was declared as the best singer.

As an award, Minorities Ministry’s Provincial Coordinator Ravi Kumar announced that the government would bear a year’s educational expenses for the young boy for the academic year of 2017-18.
