LAHORE: The principal of a school in Badami Bagh was allegedly murdered by a student’s parents on Monday after he scolded the child. Rizwan Tanveer, who also lived in the school building, had admonished a student named B* for not taking his studies seriously and misbehaving in class.

The episode did not go down well with the boy’s family. On Monday, the parents stormed into the school premises and started thrashing the principal and his wife with clubs. The victims were severely injured and were shifted to a nearby hospital, where the man succumbed to injuries. The woman remains in hospital in critical condition.

The police have sent the body for forensic evidence collection and completion of other legal formalities. They have registered a case against Rashid, Sultan, and two others on the complaint of Rizwan’s brother-in-law, Nadeem. The police are conducting raids to arrest the suspects.
