MULTAN: Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday stated that his party had half-heartedly agreed to the extension in the tenure of military courts like accepting ‘unwanted things in unavoidable circumstances’.

Speaking to the media in Multan, the Jamiat Ulema-e- Islam-Fazl chief the idea of military operations and courts as the solution to curb terrorism is debatable.

He said that he opposed the military courts in principle but has realised that it is inevitable.

“A bigger question is whether National Action Plan has succeeded against terrorism or it needs to be expanded across the country,” Fazl said.
