KARACHI: In a bid to end thana culture and extend positive results of reforms to the people, Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja inaugurated on Friday the first ever police reporting centre in District Central.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the IG said these reporting centres are being established across the city at police station levels. He said at these centres, people can register their FIRs, get verification or obtain character certificates and get their family or other issues resolved.

The police chief said his vision is to bridge the gap between the police and people and to bring them on the same page. "It is inevitable that the police and people work together [to fight] the war on terror and ensure a lasting peace," he said.

West DIG Zulfiqar Larik said the police morale has risen with the impartial measures taken across the province by the IG to fix things that were in limbo previously and were affecting the efficiency of the police.
