GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman on Thursday handed over buses to various government schools and colleges to provide better transport facilities to girl students. He said the government was focusing on colleges and technical education for promotion of higher education and all the problems including shortage of staff in colleges would be addressed in one and half years. The CM while addressing a function in connection with handing over keys of buses said preliminary work for Gilgit Women University has been setup in Government Degree College for Women (GDCW) Gilgit to provide higher education to women. Two buses each were handed over to the principals of GDCW Gilgit and GDCW Skardu, one bus to Government Intermediate College for Girls (GICG) Bakoch Ghazar, one bus to GICG Karimabad Hunza and one to GICG Gopas Ghazar.  One bus each was also provided to Government Girls High School (GGHS) Chalas, GGHS Dir, GGHS Mir and GGHS Mehdiabad.
