Monitoring system: Implement MES at all regional bureaus

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has directed officials of the Monitoring and Evaluation System to implement the system at the headquarters of the accountability body and regional bureaus.

He said this while chairing a fortnightly meeting to review the latest progress on NAB’s Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) at NAB Headquarter.

During the meeting, the advisor on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) gave a presentation on the progress made on the Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) in NAB and its efficacy in future.

The advisor said that following directions from the NAB chief, the body had developed an effective MES catering to the needs of all concerned departments. Moreover, he said that the system has salient features such as maintenance of data at each stage, including complaint entry, verification, inquiry, investigation and prosecution. Moreover, it records proceedings of regional board meetings and executive board meetings including case brief and decisions made.

The system also has the ability to analyse data in qualitative and quantitative forms and issues warnings and alarms for violators. Chaudhry said that the System was key to tracking implementation and output systematically and measure the effectiveness of performance which helps to enhance the operational, monitoring and evaluation capabilities of NAB.

He added that MES provides the necessary data to guide strategic planning and helps improve performance and achieving results. Terming the MES an important management tool to track progress and facilitate in decision making, Chaudhry said that it also establishes links between the past, present and future actions.

He directed the M&E advisor to implement at all the regional bureaus and NAB headquarters at the earliest. He added that NAB is committed to working with absolute professionalism, transparently and on merit.
