He was speaking at the closing ceremony of a three-day International Conference on Management, Business and Technology 2017 (ICMBT’17) organised by the Institute of Business and Management (IB&M) at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore on Wednesday.
In the closing ceremony of the conference, Dr Zafar said that focus should be on commercialising research to stabilise the economy in terms of producing tangible and intangible products. He added that UET was the biggest research-oriented academic platform in the country that had magnificent history. He urged the participants to adopt entrepreneurial approach with modern techniques to excel in the current competitive world.
UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid spoke about the usage of latest technology and said that it could enable the country to be in the list of developed nations. He said, “Talent, technology and tolerance are key components for resource sharing and develops linkages among different organisations”.
He added that with the up-gradation of curriculum and following scientific processes, universities could produce an effective workforce and new avenues of investment in all sectors could be opened. He expressed the hope that all ideas that emerged during the conference would become potential business plans.
