Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair administered the oath to him during a ceremony at the high court premises.
Justice Sheikh was appointed as the 23rd head of the provincial high court. He will serve on the post till October 2, 2023.
Earlier, former SHC CJ Justice Sajjad Ali Shah took oath as a judge of the Supreme Court (SC) after which Justice Sheikh was sworn in.
All the judges of the SHC and representatives of the Sindh Bar Council, SHC Bar Association, Karachi and Malir District Bar Associations along with federal and provincial law officers were also present on the occasion.
Profile
Sheikh, who born on October 3, 1961, in Larkana, studied law at Shah Latif University in Khairpur, and started law practice in 1990.
He was elevated as a judge of the Sindh High Court on September 3, 2009. He was further elevated as the SHC CJ on Wednesday following elevation of his predecessor Justice Sajjad Ali Shah as a judge of the SC.
