Iran deports over 20,000 illegal Pakistani immigrants every year

In August 2016, at least 63 Pakistani nationals were handed over to Levies Force at Taftan border, arrested from different parts of the country for staying illegally.

Pakistanis living in Iran illegally or trying to enter the territory without proper travel documents are caught every year by the Iranian security forces.

Iran, as per a senior official of FIA, has been deporting some 20,000 to 26,000 illegal Pakistani immigrants every year.

Most of them were intending to reach Europe via Iran, Turkey and Greek, with the help of human smugglers.
