KARACHI: Bollywood bombshell Katrina Kaif, who was supposed to perform at the Zee Cine Awards 2017, suffered a serious back injury while practicing for her sequence on Wednesday night, reported Spotboye.

All was going as planned and she was giving rehearsals her best before she experienced a shooting pain in her neck. She tried avoiding it for sometime but the pain just didn’t subside. It worsened and Katrina had to cancel her rehearsals.

On reaching home, a family doctor informed her that she had injured her spine and it seemed to be serious in nature. Katrina called the event organisers and told them she would not be able to perform on the awards’ night, to be held on March 11.

“Yup it was an accident. Tried to work through the pain but wasn’t possible. Very sad,” the publication quoted Katrina as saying.

The story goes back to when Katrina was shooting for Anurag Basu’s at the Film city studio, and a heavy object landed behind her. It slightly hurting her neck and back. At that time, she brushed it off and resumed the shoot.  She was experiencing slight pain after that day but last night it aggravated.

“Ya, something heavy landed on me,” confirmed Katrina.

Is Katrina Kaif heading to Hollywood?

Now, since the actor has backed out, we wonder which actress will fill in for her slot? According to reports, it could be none other than her than Deepika Padukone. Yes, you heard that right!

Deepika has been approached to perform at the event instead of Katrina. However, no confirmation on this has come from Deepika’s side yet.

Here’s wishing Katrina a speedy recovery!
