Advocate Sheraz Zaka in his petition said under Service Rules of Child Protection Welfare Bureau 2010, the director general should be a Grade-19 officer and belong to either the Punjab Management Services (PSM) or District Management Group (DMG).
Fatima, the current CPWB DG, is a Grade-18 officer from the information group and has been the acting DG for the past two years.
Nobody could be appointed on acting charges for more than six months, as per service rules, the petitioner maintained. Sheraz said the appointment should be set aside.
After hearing the arguments of the petitioner, the LHC CJ sought report from the bureau and adjourned hearing until March 13.
