LAHORE:
Empowering women is an investment for the formation of an enlightened society, said Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday in his message for the International Women’s Day. Highlighting the role of women in the development and progress of a country, Shehbaz said there was a special protocol given to the women in Islam and the religion put great emphasis on women empowerment while giving them their due rights. “In order to strengthen Pakistan, women should play a vital role in their respective professions. Pakistani women are strong, educated, talented and hardworking. They have also proven their capabilities in every walk of life,” he added. “It is our priority to empower our women socially and economically and this is the reason the Punjab government has taken exemplary steps for women development and given them their due rights.”
