Thailand urged to invest in Pakistan amid changing landscape

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Managing Director Abdul Ghafoor met with officials of Thailand’s renowned investment group King Power and recommended them to invest in Pakistan’s tourism sector.

Talking to APP, Ghafoor said that his visit to Thailand was upon the instructions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with the aim of relaying the message of peace in the country.

“Apart from attracting additional tourists from Thailand, the goal of the three-day meeting was to spread the message of restoration of peace in Pakistan,” he said.

“We hope the return from [Thailand’s] investment will help Pakistan in achieving its development goals.”

Meanwhile, Thailand’s Ambassador to Pakistan Suchart Liengsaengthong said that Pakistanis are friendly towards tourists.

He added that the security situation of Pakistan has been improving with the passage of time and he expressed hope that Thailand will also reap the benefits from China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
