CM Punjab directs stringent arrangements for PSL final at Gaddafi stadium
Security personnel to be present at each enclosure, mobile health units start functioning besides other measures
LAHORE:
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed displeasure late on Saturday night over the unsatisfactory arrangements for the PSL final and directed the Lahore commissioner to ensure these are made as planned.
Following the directions, the administration installed 22 new water coolers, four mechanical lavatories, parking area lights, speakers and signage. In addition to mobile health units and temporary hospitals, first aid units have also been installed in each enclosure. Plainclothes security personnel will be assigned in each enclosure of the stadium.
Further, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has carried out beautification of the stadium and its surroundings. A 'lost-and-found' counter has also been set up for the spectators.
PSL final: Cricket mania grips Lahore
Meanwhile, provincial minister Zaeem Qadri told journalists outside the stadium that PSL final was a national event, and "no politics would be allowed."
Qadri did not confirm if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would attend the match, citing security reasons.
The PML-N leader said he welcomes Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid to the event.
