LAHORE: Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) and Bali Memorial Trust (BMT) have inked an MoU to give transitional housing facilities to female victims of violence. The collaboration aims at providing survivors with basic commodities, vocational support and connection with employment opportunities to help women become self-reliant, PCSW Chairperson Fauzia Viqar said in a statement issued on Friday. She said gender-based violence was the most serious and pervasive form of gender-based discrimination in the society. BMT Chairperson Laila Nusrat said the Punjab government had taken many steps for the support and development of women in social and economic sectors.
