Hot Pursuit: Two car thieves caught on motorway

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) chased and caught two car lifters and recovered a stolen vehicle from their possession along the M-2 in the Bhera area. According to a statement released by the NHMP, Zaheer Butt had sought assistance for the recovery of his 2008 Toyota Corolla (LEA-2477) which had been stolen from the remits of Islampura Police Station in Lahore. On receiving the complaint, the NHMP alerted all patrol vehicles. Meanwhile, patrol officers Ahsan Ali and Raheela Malik saw the car in Bhera on the M-2 and signalled it to stop. However, when driver tried to flee, the officers gave chase. They finally managed to corner the fugitives and arrest car lifters Akber Ali and Shahzad Ali. The car was impounded. Later, Motorway Police informed the Butt that his car had been recovered and returned it. The suspected car lifters were handed over to the Bhera Police Station.
